1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

1 In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. 2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and

1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of
1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. 2 But as for

1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. 2 Deliver me

1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. 2 O thou
1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. 2 Hide me
1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth
1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my
1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry
1 O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to
1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. 2 Deliver
1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men? 2 Yea, in
1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the
1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me. 2 Mine
1 Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication. 2 Attend unto me, and
1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. 2 Hear my prayer, O God;
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity:
1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. 2 Thy tongue deviseth
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot
1 The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto
1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: 2 Both low and high*, rich
1 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of
1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. 2 For the LORD
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though
1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king:
1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their
1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly* nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and
1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2 My soul
1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The LORD
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me
1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep
1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 For thine arrows
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall
1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2
1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul
1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the LORD with
1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto whom the
1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to
1 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty*, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 2 Give unto the LORD
1 Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my
1 Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore
1 The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from
1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2
1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; 2
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork*. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech,
1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. 2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my
1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of
1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said
1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly,

1 How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. 2 They
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? 2 The wicked in
1 I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. 2
1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above
1 O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me,
1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 Have mercy upon
1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. 2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my
1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress;
1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. 2 Many there
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
1 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no
1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? 2
1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, 2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that
1 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by
1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place. 2 Hear attentively the noise of
1 Elihu also proceeded, and said, 2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet
1 Elihu spake moreover, and said, 2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more
1 Furthermore Elihu answered and said, 2 Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye
1 Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words. 2 Behold, now I have
1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes. 2 Then was
1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? 2 For what portion
7 But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to
1 Moreover Job continued* his parable, and said, 2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the
1 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it. 2 Iron

1 But Job answered and said, 2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, 2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his
1 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days? 2
1 Then Job answered and said, 2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2 Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is
1 But Job answered and said, 2 Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations. 3 Suffer me
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, 2 Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this
1 Then Job answered and said, 2 How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, 2 How long will it be ere ye make an end of
1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me. 2 Are there not mockers
1 Then Job answered and said, 2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all. 3 Shall
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said, 2 Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly
1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. 2 He cometh forth
1 Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it. 2 What ye know, the
1 And Job answered and said, 2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, 2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a
1 My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, 2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall
1 Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of
1 But Job answered and said, 2 Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity* laid in the
1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2 If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved?
1 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. 2 And Job spake, and said, 3 Let the
1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan
1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and
1 And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea. 2 And
1 Now in the twelfth* month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth* day of the same, when the
1 On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen.

1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in
1 When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went
1 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set
1 After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done,
1 Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto

1 Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies,

1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took

1 Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s
1 Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day
1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.
1 Manasseh was twelve* years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against
1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and
1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should
1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years
1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen* years in Jerusalem: but he
1 Jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen* years in Jerusalem.
1 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen* years old, and made him king in the
1 Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years
1 Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s
1 And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham,
1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men
1 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram
1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with
1 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. 2 And Jehu the son
1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab. 2 And after certain years he
